Vegan Cupcake/Laptop Challenge – 27 August 2015

By Jyoti Dambiec AnimalACTivism Collective organised a Cupcake/Laptop Challenge on Thursday 27th August. James Aspey and 5 local activists set the stall up in Garema Place and invited people to watch a 4 minute loop about the factory farming industry. The video clip was from Chris Delforce’s Lucent documentary. They were given showbags which included AAC No dairy cards, Vegan ACT brochures, Vegan ACT 30 Day Challenge Mentoring information, Vegan Easy bklets and a flyer to James Aspey’s talk at being held at ANU. Vegan ACT and Living Green Festival Stalls at Green Savvy – Sunday, 20 September 2015

On Sunday, 20 September, Vegan ACT and Living Green Festival had a combined stall at Green Savvy Sunday at the Old Bus Depot Markets in Kingston. For the third year running, Vegan ACT had a stall at the Old Bus Depot Markets with lots of info about Vegan ACT and Veganism in general to introduce ourselves to people interested in communities within the ACT. Suitcase Rummage at Art Not Apart Festival – Saturday, 14 March 2015

In the past three years some of us have had vegan stalls, done chalk art, put up vegan paste-ups, and scattered vegan information about which proved very effective. This year Animal ACTivism Collective had a friendly, low-key Vegan presence with a small suitcase display. I sold vegan activist stencil laminated prints and smaller photocopies to pop up anywhere as well as my ‘Flying Lady Ceramics’, including some of the sought after skull pottery. We were all so thrilled to have the opportunity to promote Veganism that it was incredibly difficult to tear ourselves away! The day got off to an excellent start with Sia and Chris (as pictured) drawing people in with their warm presence and witty repartee. Those two were on a roll! Vegan ACT Stalls – Spring, 2014

When spring sprang in September 2014, Vegan ACT stall opportunities sprung up everywhere! On Sunday 21 September, we had a stall at Green Savvy Sunday at the Old Bus Depot markets AND at the Festival of Community Action at ANU! Stall at Art Not Apart Festival and Stenciling T-Shirts – 15 March 2014

Written by the AnimalACTivism Collective Stall On Saturday, 15 March, 2014, the AnimalACTivism Collective and ACTVVS (now Vegan ACT) held a stall at the Art Not Apart Festival. Thanks to Rowena, Jyoti and Dieter for making this happen. This was a worthwhile day promoting vegan living. Stenciling T-Shirts Creative, non-violent activism was one of the important ideas in the mind of some of us who started AAC. Wearing a vegan T-shirt is a great way to do outreach while we go about our daily lives. We have purchased some fabric ink to stencil some T-shirts and singlets.
