Gather some friends or family and come out for a great movie night all while fundraising and supporting Lucky Stars Sanctuary. All funds raised from the event will be going towards helping rescue and rehabilitate wildlife, pet and farm animals.

Arrive to the National Film and Sound Archive at 6pm with complimentary nibbles and drinks. Bring some cash on the night to further extend your support to Lucky Stars by purchasing merchandise and raffle tickets from their market stall.

Ticket prices are $25 + booking fee. Tickets includes movie, lots of nibbles and drinks.

In this unique event, Anthea from Rainbow Nourishments will combine her love for traditional high tea with selected East Asian flavours from her childhood. Guests will enjoy six plentiful plant-based courses accompanied by local tea blends and kombucha. All ingredients will be locally sourced and include organic ingredients from Naked Foods Braddon.

The event will be held at the Kith and Nosh cafe in Braddon, a contemporary and down to earth wholefoods cafe. Each guest will also take home a curated gift bag valued at $20 containing food and wellbeing products (and more!). Check out the Discussion page in this event for the tentative menu!

This will be an environmentally-responsible event, in line with Rainbow Nourishments’ philosophy. There will be careful calculations of how much food is needed, all food waste will be composted and appropriate waste will be recycled through the local council or in soft plastic recycling bins.

Who:  Linda Smillie (Bsc, Grad Dip Nut Diet) is a Canberra based Accredited Practising Dietitian with 25 years experience in both the public and private sectors. For the last 10 years she has run her own Canberra-based private practice and specialises in nutritional disorders of the gastrointestinal system and plant based diets.

She currently works within a private gastrointestinal clinic at Garran. Linda follows a whole food plant-based vegan diet for health, ethical and environmental reasons. “ I encourage my clients to eat real, wholesome foods where possible. I can give you practical ideas about how to improve your diet to help you reach your health goals.

We will be creating a map of all the participating businesses. Come and collect your map from the Cruelty Free Shop. Then enjoy spending the weekend walking around redeeming the vouchers on the map.

At the Cruelty Free Shop, we’ll have storewide discounts on hundreds of items plus free food tastings all weekend long.

The Earth Festival @ The Botanic Gardens – Weekend of 21 & 22 April 2018

The Earth Festival is about creating awareness to our community about themselves, those around them, animals and the environment. The focus for the exhibition to share issues that are damaging to animals, our heath, other people and the environment, and educate and encourage others on how they can make a difference.
The 2 day event will be packed with a huge food court filled with a variety of local vegan foods, over 18 workshops and speakers, more tattoo artists, henna artist, activity zone and stalls that will be giving you the opportunity to by sustainable clothing, accessories, make up, skincare, bags and a whole lot more. Many stores are comming from interstate, so do not mis the opportunity to buy items that aren’t available in Canberra and without the shipping prices!
80% of all ticket sales are being donated to Lucky Stars Sanctuary. Our goal is $5,000 which will help build new shelters and feeding areas so they are able to give homes to animals in need.
