By Sia Brook Thank you to everyone who has donated and supported the previous fundraising garage sales (from late 2015 to now). So far, we’ve raised over $1500 for local sanctuaries and aim to have the next one for Whisker Woods Sanctuary later in the year. The garage sales not only raise much needed funds to provide care for the rescued animals and in turn support these sanctuaries to further educate the public, we also hand out sanctuary flyers with all purchases and often have conversations about veganism. Yesterday the Vegan ACT working bee crew returned to A Poultry Place to help out around the sanctuary! 🐔🐤 The volunteers collected firewood, cleaned shelters, laid down fresh bedding, cleared the ground of woody debris to make the ground safe for little feet, as well as other odd jobs that all add up when you’re running an animal sanctuary. Thanks to Rob, Shree, Indu, Michelle B, Jade, Judy, Tanya, Anneke Asmita and Michelle for dedicating a day to the the feathered folk of A Poultry Place.
