Watch 1000 Eyes Cupcake Challenge – Saturday, 4 March 2017

Watch 1000 eyes cupcake challenge!

Saturday, 4 March 2017 11:00 am

@ Garema Pl, City ACT 2601, Australia

Creator: Vegan ACT

Join Vegan ACT and Animal Liberation ACT (Canberra) on Saturday the 4th of March for another cupcake challenge!

The cupcake challenge is a great way to encourage the public to watch a 4 minute video on factory farming in Australia (watch1000eyes.com.au) by receiving a free cupcake if they do.

This was really successful last time, many members of the public stopped to watch the video, have a chat and enjoy a free vegan cupcake!

We will need some volunteers to help out with the following:

-Speaking to the public about the video, animal food farms and answer any questions they may have
-Leafleters to walk around and encourage members of the public to come and see the video for a free cupcake
-Sign holders
-Handing out cupcakes and free booklets/flyers
-Bakers

If you have any questions please contact Laila via messenger

March to Close All Slaughterhouses – Saturday, 11 March 2017

Update:

Not long now until Canberra’s first March To Close All Slaughterhouses on Saturday March 11th! Are you ready to make your statement for the animals?

Familiarise yourself with the route the March will take on the day as per the map here.

We will begin assembling from around 10.50am near the fountain, and proceedings will begin shortly after – don’t be late!

Please hit GOING, SHARE the event and INVITE your friends – let’s make it BIG for the animals!

Original Post:

Come and be a part of the very first March to Close All Slaughterhouses in Canberra on March 11, a rapidly growing annual event in Australia and around the globe.

Invite your friends now – let’s make this LARGE.

This is our opportunity to show Canberra that we are part of a movement to take notice of, that non-human animals are not ours to abuse and kill and that we will not be silent until the last cage is empty, until the last slaughterhouse is CLOSED.

This is a family friendly event and March will be followed by a community BBQ, more details to follow in the next few days.
This event is co-organised by Vegan ACT and Animal Liberation ACT.

Please message the page if you would like to offer any assistance prior to the day, or if you have any ideas to make this day one to remember.

Saturday, 25 March 2017 10:00 am

@ Epic

Creator: The Earth Festival

The Earth Festival on the 25th and 26th of March 2017 from 10am – 5pm each day. It is about creating awareness to our community about themselves, those around them, animals and the environment. The focus for the exhibition is on all aspects on veganism and hoping to share issues that are damaging to animals, our heath and the environment.

The 2 day event will be packed with a huge food court, workshops and speakers, a giant inflatable obstacle course, worthwhile non-profit organisations, and stakeholders providing you with more food, clothing, accessories, make up, skincare and a whole lot more!! There will also be local and interstate bands and singers playing live music

Be sure to grab your tickets early, the first 300 people who purchase their tickets will be entered in a draw to win a gift basket filled with lush products (donated), Arbonne products (donated) and vegan junk food including oeros, pringles, red rock deli sea salt chips, chocolate, veggie chips, sour patch kids and much more!! To be entered in the draw be one of the first 300 people to purchase a ticket, say you are going to the event and like our page.

Early bird ticket sales ends on the 31st of December 2016 or when they are sold out, early bird tickets allow you to save $5 on one day tickets and $10 on 2 day tickets. It would be ideal to come for both days as there will be different workshops and speakers.

A percentage of all the ticket sales will be donated to Sleepy Burrows to help build new facilites for their sanctuary.

Our website will have details about stakeholders, entertainment and the program of whats running over both days. http://www.theearthfestival.org/
