This is such a positive opportunity to introduce someone unfamiliar with veganism to the benefits of plant based living, or a perfect way to learn a bit more about the implications of animal products on our health and enjoy a vegan-friendly night out.

The screening is to be held on the 13th of June (doors open at 6pm) at the National Film and Sound Archive: ARC Cinema: before the film starts you will be able to browse the stalls and connect with heaps of local vegan, plant based and animal rights organisations and businesses. You can opt for catering before the event at the time of ticket purchase, small food items will also be available for purchase on the night.
After the screening you will be able to hear from plant based health professionals (as listed in the event), and participate in a Q&A. Sounds like quite a night!

A massive thank you to the organisers, Raw Events for bringing this event to Canberra and also for your support and involvement of local organisations, including Vegan ACT.

The Fish Shack Vegan Sunday – 25 June 2017

The Fish Shack Vegan Sunday

Sunday, 25 June 2017 11:00 am

@ The Fish Shack

Creator: Events-ually Yours

As the name suggests, last Sunday of every month we will be cooking strictly vegan only meals with a percentage of profits going towards a chosen local charity.

The Fisk Shack would like to promote veganism and educating people on how to eat sustainably, while also giving back to the community by supporting a different local vegan/ sustainability project or charity each month.

The first Fish Shack Vegan Sunday will be held on the 25th June 2017 from 11:00am with the last food order being taken at 7:30pm. There is under cover seating available with heating lamps so you can stay warm while eating the delicious mock seafood and meats.

To ensure there is no cross-contamination, the oil of the deep fryer will be changed in the morning and no animal products will be used. There is also coffee, soy milkshakes, soft drinks, sugar cane juice and ice teas available.

Café Essen will be providing small vegan cupcakes for dessert with a variety of flavours to choose from. There will be no food deliveries, only order in store as we want people to experience the event, learn about Little Oak Sanctuary and how to eat more sustainable.

10% of the profits from the day will be donated to Little Oak Sanctuary, who will also be having a stall at the Fish Shack to create awareness about what the sanctuary does and there will also be merchandise to purchase. Vegan ACT will also have a stall if people are interested in learning about transitioning into the vegan lifestyle.
